PureCode AI now gives you full control over when to summarize your chat context — so you can decide exactly when to optimize and free up space during long sessions.

With Manual Context Summarization, you can preview your current context usage, trigger summarization instantly, and keep your conversation flowing without losing important details.

How It Works

As your chat grows, the model’s context window gradually fills up. To help you track this, PureCode AI displays a circular context usage indicator — a small progress bar located below the chat area, showing your current usage (e.g., “22%”).

When usage reaches 75%, a toast notification appears reminding you that your context is filling up and summarization can be triggered if needed.

At 90%, another toast appears prompting you to summarize now to free up space and keep the session running smoothly.

You can also trigger summarization manually anytime after your first message in a session. (Note: summarization isn’t available on the very first message.)

Ways to Summarize

1. From the Context Preview

• Click the circular usage indicator below the chat.

• This opens a Context Preview panel, showing how much context is left (e.g., “82% of 200K”).

• From there, click “Summarize Context” to instantly compress older messages into a concise summary.

PureCode AI keeps all essential information such as technical details, code updates, decisions, and references while summarizing so you never lose important context.

2. From the Toast Notification

• When a toast appears at 75% or 90% context usage, click Summarize Now to trigger summarization immediately.

After Summarization

Once summarization is complete:

• A confirmation toast appears confirming success.

• The context usage indicator resets, showing the updated progress value.

• Your chat continues seamlessly without restarting the session.
